Officers responded to 100 Summer St. around 7:54 a.m. after receiving reports of a window washer who fell several stories to the ground, a Boston police spokesperson said.
Police have released the name of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, and the incident remains under investigation, the police spokesperson said.
Designed by architect Welton Becket, the 32-story, 1.1 million-square-foot building is one of the tallest buildings in Boston, according to 100 Summer St.’s website.
"We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the individual's family and loved ones. We are actively supporting the local authorities in their investigation of the incident, which remains ongoing," a spokesperson for the building told CBS Boston.
